Russell Westbrook's trust in the Houston Rockets organization "would never recover" from the way they handled COVID-19 protocols before traveling to the NBA's campus in Orlando, sources tell Henry Abbott of TrueHoop.

Westbrook flew from Los Angeles to Houston passing every test as he had been taking the pandemic very seriously while living with a multi-generational family.

Texas had largely remained open in June and July while Governor Greg Abbott did not mandate masks in public spaces until July 2nd.

Westbrook told the Rockets he was disappointed in their efforts to keep the players safe from COVID-19. Westbrook announced he tested positive for COVID-19 on July 14th.

Westbrook missed several weeks of training camp and then suffered a strained right quad muscle during the restart.

Westbrook and James Harden sought trades from the Rockets in the offseason with the former eventually being dealt to the Washington Wizards.
