Nets coach Avery Johnson wants the team to retain forward Kris Humphries.

"We want Humphries back," Johnson said. "Humphries is what the Nets are all about. Where we're going, Humphries is our player.

"We told him that. I just said, 'We'd love to have you a part of our program as we move forward.' "

New Jersey could give Humphries an extension now, but the forward said he hasn't gotten an offer yet.

Humphries is having a career season, averaging 8.8 points and 9.4 rebounds in 25.7 minutes.
