Providence freshman Gerard Coleman was named the BIG EAST Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday.

It marks the second time this season the freshman has earned the award (November 29). Coleman is the first Friar rookie to earn the honor twice since Ryan Gomes in 2002.

Coleman scored 19 points in the Friars upset win over No. 19/15 Louisville on Saturday, January 22, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

He is averaging 11.3 points in 20 games this season, which is third on the team.
