John Wall took himself out of Wednesday's game at Sacramento just seconds before tipoff.
Wall has missed six games this season due to a sprained left foot, but had played in the previous four.
The Wizards lost the game to the Kings by a final of 116-91.
"I just took myself out instead of hurting myself more and hurting the team more," said Wall. "I don't know how (the injury) happened. I just went out there and tried to run and couldn't push off like I wanted to, like I think I can help the team or be myself, (so) I just took the game off."
Wall's teammates suffered from a communication breakdown in regards to his status.
"We didn't actually know (he wasn't playing)," said Arenas, who had 19 points on 6-of-17 shooting, four assists and five turnovers. "(And) I thought once he didn't show up for the starting lineup that they were going to sub him in (during the game)."
