Chris Sheridan of ESPN reports that because Nike did not want LeBron James to be booed at an event at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Thursday night, James never took the microphone to speak to the crowd and his image was largely kept off camera.

Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, Amar'e Stoudemire and Mike Krzyzewski all answered questions during timeouts, but James remained silent and stayed seated in the front row.

A Nike spokesman attending the event declined comment.
