Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas will be sentenced Friday in D.C. Superior Court on one felony count of violating the District of Columbia's strict gun laws.

It will be decided whether Arenas does jail time or simply gets probation.

Prosecutors want Arenas to go to jail for at least three months, while the defense believes that probation and community service are enough punishment.

The maximum term he could serve is five years, but such a sentence is highly unlikely.

Arenas brought his guns to the locker room at the Verizon Center while attempting to play a "joke" on teammate Javaris Crittenton earlier this season.
