Mike Dunleavy said Friday that he was simply burnt out in Los Angeles, which led him to step side as coach earlier this week.

Dunleavy is still acting as the general manager of the Clippers.

"I thought, 'It's time for me to give somebody else a shot, you're burnt out on this,' " he said.

He had coached the Clippers for 6 1/2 seasons and his decision actually shocked his players.

Assistant Kim Hughes will make his debut as interim coach at home against the Spurs on Saturday night.
