The Magic defeated the Hawks 123-86 on Friday night to finish their preseason slate undefeated.

Vince Carter scored 26 points for Orlando.

"If we are going to play for a championship, we wanted to hit the ground running," Carter told the Associated Press. "We didn't want to struggle at the beginning while everyone got acclimated to each other. So we worked hard early, and it's paid off."

It marks the first time in franchise history that the Magic have gone unbeaten in the preseason.

"They are playing at a high level already," Hawks coach Mike Woodson said of the Magic. "They had a great taste of success last year by going to the finals, that puts you in a different light each night you step on the floor."
