Rockets assistant Elston Turner will interview with the Timberwolves for their vacant head coaching job in the next few days.

"I'm going to be interviewing sometime this week, in the next couple days," Turner told the Houston Chronicle.

"They're a young team, obviously. With any young team, there needs to be a commitment to let it grow. For any coach accepted to be a part of that, it's attractive, especially if they include the coach in to be part of the growth and commit to it.

"I'm sure they are interviewing a lot of other people. We'll feel each other out and see if it's a fit."

Turner has been an assistant in Houston for the last two seasons after spending six years with Sacramento. He also worked as an assistant in Portland after his playing career.
