Pacers' rookie Brandon Rush has rather lofty goals as he wants to be the next Reggie Miller, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Rush will officially become a member of the Pacers on July 9 when the NBA's moratorium on trades ends. Indiana dealt the rights to Jerryd Bayless and Ike Diogu to Portland for Jarrett Jack, Josh McRoberts, and the rights to Rush on draft night.

"I want to try to be the next Reggie Miller," Rush told The Kansas City Star soon after hearing the news that he was headed to Indiana.

He explained to The Indianapolis Star on Wednesday that he was referring to Miller's skill and success with the team.

"Just coming in and helping the team win, that's what I was thinking about," said Rush. "And with him being a sharpshooter -- I want to be that kind of player."
