Julius Hodge is working out with the New Jersey Nets in the hope of landing a spot on the team's summer league roster, and ultimately a shot at getting back into the NBA, the New York Post is reporting.

Hodge insists that his shot can improve working with Nets GM Kiki Vandeweghe, who drafted him with the 20th overall pick while with the Nuggets before Hodge's career took a turn when he was shot four times while driving his car in April 2006.

"He is a very good person. More importantly, he is a very good teacher. So my teacher is a student of Jerry West. In my opinion, it can't get much better than that."
