Aaron Miles was a steady point guard on two Kansas teams that went to the Final Four. But since leaving the school in 2005, his NBA experience has been limited to a 19-game stint with Golden State during the 2005-06 season.

The 6-foot-1 Miles will have a chance to stick with the Wizards if he can build on a solid performance in the team's loss to Detroit on Wednesday night.

Miles, who started Washington's first two games, scored five points on 2-of-5 shooting with seven assists with one turnover and generally did a solid job of running the offense. The Wizards could be looking for a pure point guard to back up Gilbert Arenas and Antonio Daniels.

"I heard from a few teams but looking at the situation here, I just felt that it was a good opportunity," said Miles. "I feel that with the experience I've picked up along the way, I can come out and be an effective point guard in this league."
