The Bulls' tenuous defensive play lately will be tough to fix against the Magic on Wednesday.

Kirk Hinrich, the heart of their defense, will not play as he continues to recover from a concussion he suffered in Monday's loss to Dallas.

Hinrich didn't make the trip to Orlando, instead staying in Chicago to be examined again Wednesday morning, Bulls trainer Fred Tedeschi said.

In describing Hinrich's condition, Tedeschi said the third-year guard still "was a little bit foggy" and had a headache. Although he showed signs of improvement, Hinrich didn't practice Tuesday.

"He didn't look like himself this morning," coach Scott Skiles said.

Tedeschi could not give a target date for Hinrich's return.
