Washington Wizards President of Basketball Operations Ernie Grunfeld announced today that the team has activated center Brendan Haywood and placed center Peter John Ramos on the injured list with left knee tendinitis.

Haywood was originally placed on the injured list on March 27, 2004 with a fractured left thumb.  Haywood suffered the injury to the tip of his thumb during game action against the Los Angeles Clippers on March 25.

Haywood missed Washington?s last ten games while on the injured list, but has appeared in and started 64 games overall for the Wizards this season.  He is averaging career-highs in almost every major statistical category including points per game (9.4), rebounds per game (6.8), blocks per game (1.63), minutes per game (27.4) and field goal percentage (.561).  

Ramos has appeared in six games in his rookie season for Washington, including two games in April while Haywood was on the Injured List.  Ramos scored five points on April 6 at Detroit, and also saw action on April 8 in Indiana.  On the season, Ramos is averaging 1.8 points and .7 rebounds per game.  

Washington hosts the Chicago Bulls tonight at MCI Center at 8 p.m. in a nationally televised contest on ESPN.
