Larry Hughes matched his season high, scoring 33 points and the Wizards closed out a 112-88 victory over the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday night with an 18-0 spurt.

"It was just a game of spurts," New Jersey's Vince Carter said. "They started off the game well and had the run. Then it was back and forth, back and forth. At the end of the game they made their run and kept running. They got it going tonight, especially late."

Carter scored 31 points for the Nets.
