There is good news for Cleveland fans in Saturday's Beacon Journal with Brian Windhorst writing that should the Cavaliers be sold, it is unlikely that Dan Gilbert would move the team from Cleveland.

The Cavaliers' lease with Gund Arena runs through 2027. Although the lease contains clauses that permit a buyout, at a cost of hundreds of millions of dollars, the lease is one of the most valuable parts of the package.

Current owner Gordon Gund moved from the Richfield Coliseum to downtown Cleveland in 1994 in large part because of the sweetheart deal, which lets Cavaliers/Gund Arena Co. pay relatively low rent to operate the building.

The only city in the market for an NBA team is Kansas City, Mo., which is building an arena. The city has been linked to an effort to lure the Orlando Magic.
