Vince Carter, the player who currently appears in the bulk of trade rumors, will miss at least the next two games after straining his left Achilles tendon in the opening minute of the second half in Toronto's 90-86 overtime loss at Detroit on Wednesday.

Carter's absence is the latest bit of bad news for the struggling team and is yet another wrinkle in the trade talks that have swirled around the Raptors star.

"When you lose one of your starters and star players, it's always going to be a factor," said Mitchell. "Take a good player off any team in the league and it hurts them, so you do the math.

"He's our best player and he's out, if he's out ...it's going to hurt us, there's no way around it. Guys coming off the bench haven't scored like Vince has scored, or done the things he's done so it will hurt us."

With Carter clearly being shopped Raptors GM Rob Babcock wouldn't speculate on how Carter's injury may affect any deal in the works.

"All I'm concerned about is the health of our players, I don't comment on the trade talks," said Babcock.

Babcock did speak hypothetically, saying an injured player can still be traded, the teams involved must just disclose the full extent of any injury meaning that Carter could still be on the move despite the latest Raptor setback.
