Marcus Fizer is thankful to the Milwaukee Bucks for taking a chance on him, especially considering he is still recovering from offseason surgery.

"It's a great feeling, a great situation," Fizer said in the locker room before the Bucks played their home opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night. "I thank God I was able to be seen by a team that showed so much interest.

Fizer, the fourth overall pick of the 2000 NBA draft, was signed by the Bucks this week after Milwaukee waived 2002 first round selection Marcus Haislip.

"I was in a situation (in Chicago) where it could be one way one time of the day, and the next day it could be totally different. Larry (Bucks general manager Larry Harris) had been looking to sign me for a while. I know with this group of guys here, I'm going to come in and help them win."
