Grant Hill, who played his first game in 20 months Tuesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies, is healthy, despite the fact that he sat out Wednesday's game versus Atlanta. Coach Johnny Davis rested him as a precaution rather than subject him to a back-to-back.

"That's what happens when you don't make a shot," laughed Hill, who missed all four of his field-goal attempts against Memphis. "You get benched."

All accounts indicate that this season will mark the real return of Grant Hill.  He appears fit and not fragile, flying through the air as he did in Detroit and at Duke.

A healthy Hill would give the Orlando Magic an excellent chance of making the playoffs, combining with newcomers Steve Francis, Cutino Mobley and Dwight Howard to form an exciting nucleus.

Also as reported earlier, it should comes as no suprise that Grant Hill will not be opting out of his contract this summer to become an unrestricted free agent.

Even if he has a solid season, it is doubtful many teams would take a chance or pay him what he can make under contract the next three seasons in Orlando.

"It would be a nice problem for me to have," said Hill. "But I'm not looking to go anywhere."

The Orlando Sentinel writes that Hill has played just 47 games since signing a seven-year, $92 million contract in August 2000 because he has needed four ankle surgeries.
