Even with Grant Hills newfound unbridled enthusiasm, the Orland Magic are still taking things slow in regards to his comeback.  Grant Hill, the consummate professional that he is, seems to be okay with it.  "I know that it's a long season. If they want to cut my minutes now or bring me off the bench, I'm cool with it."

The Magic will likely use Mr. Hill sparingly this pre-season even though he has reported no soreness in his left ankle which has undergone four surgeries, the last one in March of 2003.

"He may play 14, 15 minutes or more one night and then maybe none the next game," Magic Coach Johnny Davis said. "We want to see how he's doing. We want him to get the rhythm of his game back. But mostly we want him to make it to the starting gates for the regular season. We want to make sure he's healthy and confident."
