The trade of Tracy McGrady to the Houston Rockets moved another step toward completion early Friday morning after a conversation between Magic general manager John Weisbrod and Steve Francis.

Weisbrod and Francis spoke by phone after the NBA Draft concluded Thursday night and Jeff Fried, Francis agent, said his client has dropped any objections to playing in Orlando.

"Steve was very impressed with the way John has a vision for the team,'' Fried said.

According to Weisbrod, no deal is imminent and the Magic could still opt to take another team?s offer, but all indications are that the Rockets? deal is in fact the frontrunner.

"We could still go in another direction with this, but I do like what I heard tonight,'' Weisbrod said. "We meshed.''
