In an atypical playoff game, the Lakers defeated the Timberwolves 100-89 at Staples Center to take Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals.

They lead the best-of-seven playoff series 2-1.

Kobe Bryant did not score in the first half and Shaquille O?Neal turned in another performance that was a bit less than his usual dominant game.  Each had 22 points.

But the Lakers prevailed nonetheless, this time with a balanced attack.

All five Laker starters were in double figures.  Gary Payton was instrumental in the victory, with 18 points, 9 assists.

Kevin Garnett led the Wolves with 22 points.
