STORRS -- As UConn junior guard Ben Gordon was cutting down his strand of net, after the Huskies had defeated Georgia Tech for the national championship, UConn fans in the Alamodome began chanting "One more year."

Gordon looked at them and shook his head.

He will hold a press conference Wednesday at Gampel Pavilion and put words to that gesture.

There were times this season when it was not clear whether Gordon would be able to join his old roommate. But all those doubts were erased in the Huskies' splendid stretch run.

Gordon led UConn in scoring this season, averaging 18.5 points in 39 games, but was even better in the NCAA Tournament when he averaged 21.2 points in six games.

He was named the outstanding player of the Phoenix Regional and, along with Rashad Anderson and Okafor, was one of three UConn players named to the all-tournament team at the Final Four. Gordon is projected as a top 10 selection in the NBA draft, with some mock drafts placing him as high as the sixth pick.
