MIAMI (AP) Miami Heat rookie guard Dwayne Wade is expected to miss at least five games after being placed on the injured list with a bone bruise in his right wrist Friday.

Wade sprained his wrist Dec. 26 and played the last two games before an MRI test on Friday revealed the bruise.

Wade has been one of the NBA's top rookies this season, averaging 16.2 points and 4.4 assists.

Wade will wear a cast for a week, then the injury will be re-evaluated.

Also Friday, rookie forward Johnny Beasley, sidelined since Nov. 19 with a lower back strain, was activated.
