An Orlando Magic franchise already re-tooled with two new starters and three rookies will also sport a dramatically different look with its uniforms next season.

The Magic unveiled their new logo and uniforms Friday morning at a ceremony outside of City Hall in downtown Orlando. The changes are in conjunction with the franchise's celebration of its 15-year anniversary in the NBA.

The most significant aspects of the new uniforms is that the star theme in the background is gone, the blue color is somewhat softer and the road uniforms will feature 'ORLANDO' across the chest as opposed to 'MAGIC' on the past away uniforms.

The new uniforms are much more traditional-looking with the block lettering across the chest and the minimal stripes. The new home white uniforms are outlined in blue, while the blue road gear has a black outline. Magic vice president of marketing Chris D'Orso said that input from star guard Tracy McGrady and head coach Doc Rivers was used in creating the design.

"It's different and it's really nice," said Magic forward Drew Gooden, who modeled the new gear Friday along with rookie Reece Gaines. "It's eye-catching and I think it's kind of retro and even has a throwback feel to it. I like it a lot."

This is the third uniform design for the Magic. The team wore their famous pinstripes and black road uniforms for the first nine seasons. In 1998, the team had New York designer Jhane Barnes create the model that had been worn the past five seasons.
