The Orlando Magic have found their starting point guard, reaching an agreement with free agent Tyronn Lue on Friday.

NBA sources said the deal for Lue, a five-year veteran, is worth $3 million over two years.

Lue will sign the contract early next week. The Magic had only the $1.5 million veteran's exception to offer him. The length of the contract had been holding up its completion, as Lue wanted three years.

Lue, 26, played last season with the Washington Wizards, averaging 8.6 points and 3.5 assists per game as a reserve. It will be his first chance to be a starter in the NBA, although the Magic expect, Reece Gaines, their first-round draft pick, to eventually take over at point guard.

Lue is a shade under 6-feet, but is known for his defensive energy and pass-first mentality.

Also on Friday, Gaines signed a three-year contract worth $3.15 million.
