MJ is gone, which could pave the way for another man with the same initials - St. John's coach Mike Jarvis - to return to Washington as coach of the Wizards.

A source told The Post that Wizards owner Abe Pollin called Jarvis or one of his intermediaries Sunday night to gauge if the St. John's coach still had an interest in coaching the Wizards. Jarvis and the Wizards courted each other in 2000 before negotiations exploded in a fit of Michael Jordan rage.

Jordan, of course, was recently terminated by Pollin. Three years ago, Jordan was in his first year as the Wizards' GM and he opted to play hardball in negotiations with Jarvis. The talks blew up and Jordan hired former University of Miami coach Leonard Hamilton.
