OK, so the Jazz had something to play for after all. And by losing to the Kings, they did themselves a favor.

Utah's 95-84 loss to their first-round playoff opponent Wednesday doesn't change the playoff pairings, but it improved the Jazz's position in this summer's NBA Draft. Utah, which stood to draft as low as 21st before the day began, now will select either 18th or 19th -- same as last year, sort of. A coin flip will be held later this month between the Jazz and New Orleans Hornets, who also finished with a 47-35 record, to settle which team will choose first.

The Jazz entered the day tied with Philadelphia and Indiana, which both won. Had those teams' season finales ended differently, the Jazz's draft position could have dropped to 21st.
