Joanne C. Gerstner of the Detroit News reports that Ben Wallace, who has been walking without a limp, is on course to play in the Pistons playoff opener against the Orlando Magic on Sunday.

"I'm feeling better," Wallace said Wednesday. "I'm hopeful I'll be back for the target date (Sunday). I don't know. I hope so. We'll see."

The Pistons will welcome Wallace's return with open arms.

"We're all looking forward to having Ben back, he's a big part of who we are," Cliff Robinson said. "I think we're all going to enjoy seeing the big fella back in the middle again."
