Steve Wyche reports that Ex-Wizard Rod Grizzard is filing a grievance against his former team. He claims that the Wizards owe him this season?s salary of $349,458. The team says otherwise.

Grizzard was a second round pick of the Wizards and signed a contract with the team in the offseason. The contract was guaranteed but it came with a clause that allowed the Wizards to void the deal if a leg fracture Grizzard suffered during a pre-draft workout prevented him from making the roster.

Grizzard was cut by the team partially because he was unable to participate in most training camp practices because of his injury. A source close to Grizzard said it was not the fracture that caused Grizzard's physical shortcomings but a weakened group of muscles in a different part of his leg that hampered him.

An arbitration hearing is set for May, according to a Wizards team official.
