Veteran guard Calbert Cheaney has been joining some of his younger teammates working with Jeff Hornacek on their shooting.

It appears to be paying off.

Cheaney, now in his 10th NBA season, started slowly after signing a free agent deal with the Jazz this season, as he worked to find his niche on a new team.

After 19 games he averaged a modest 7.1 points and was shooting 44.5 percent from the field. Over the last eight games, however, he has averaged 11.2 points on 56.6 percent shooting.
