Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel writes that Grant Hill has  failed the test. After four games in five days, Hill?s ankle has failed the stress test. He had to sit out the second half of last nights? win in Milwaukee after experiencing soreness in his left ankle.

The same ankle that has kept him out of action for most of the last two years.

The best the Magic can hope for is that the soreness is just a reaction to the wear and tear of playing basketball every day.

Tracy McGrady told reporters after the game that he thinks Hill will be fine. He said Hill "felt a little pain" in his ankle, and that the team kept him on the bench as a precaution. "It's not serious," McGrady told Givens. "That's what I wanted to hear. So all you fans back in Orlando, he's fine."

Schmitz adds: "Problem is, we?ve heard this before".

For the last two years, Hill has been declared healthy after each surgery only to have his ankle break down to the point where he had to sit out most of the season. Hill only played four games in the 2000-2001 season. He only managed 14 games last season.

Magic coach Doc Rivers actually warned everyone about the possibility of Hill suffering from soreness. On opening night he said that he would be prepared for Hill to miss some games. "People just will have to understand he'll have some soreness," Rivers said. "It's normal for this type of injury. You can't get alarmed."
