The Orlando Magic were one of five NBA teams showing interest in the NBA assists leader Andre Miller reports Ken Hornack, but the question remains how the organisation would go about acquiring the rising star.

Miller remains under contract to the Cleveland Cavaliers through the 2002-03 season because of the four-year, $7.48 million deal he signed before his rookie year, and after this time he will be a restricted free agent.  The Magic?s best bet would be to trade, and with the exception of Grant Hill, Tracy McGrady and Mike Miller the majority of the current Magicians are entering the final years of their contracts.  Couple this with the fact that the Magic have only the 18th selection in this draft and it seems unlikely that Gabriel can put together a trade package that would be acceptable to the Cavs.

It is reported that Miller is asking for the maximum and the Cavaliers may be unwilling to offer such a contract.
