What a show! I sure wish we could swap franchises with Dallas. I'd take Dirk Nowitzki over Kevin Garnett, Steve Nash over Chauncey Billups, Michael Finley over Wally Szczerbiak and Don Nelson over Flip Saunders.

Then we'd all get a chance to watch a team that actually grows to where it can advance past the first round of the playoffs. We'd get to see a team that is able to move forward with confidence and maturity.

Four years ago, the Mavericks lost 62 games. But they've improved quickly and just blew past the Timberwolves in three straight.

Which puts them in the not-so-select company of anyone else who has ever played the Timberwolves in the first round.

"The guys are disappointed, the staff is disappointed, everyone is disappointed," Saunders noted.

Blah, blah, blah.

"The players have got to get better,'' Saunders added. "The coaches have got to get better, management has to get better."

Yakety, yakety-yak.

"We'll sit down and evaluate where everything's at."

Yawn... . pass the No-doz. I've heard all this before. In fact, I think I heard it right around last year at this time. And the year before, and the year before and the year before.
