Minnesota never led by more than two in Wednesday's 122-110 loss at American Airlines Center, and they could not keep the Mavericks from the runs that make them such a dangerous team. The Mavericks pulled away with a 19-7 burst during the third quarter.
"You make a few mistakes, and that's when they go on those runs," Minnesota coach Flip Saunders said.
Minnesota led by at least 19 points in three of the four regular-season games against the Mavericks.
The Wolves won two of those games under duress and lost another game in which they had a 22-point advantage in the third quarter.
