NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS

The NBA trading deadline came and went at 6 p.m. Thursday without the Orlando Magic making any moves before their game against the Los Angeles Clippers.

"We're pretty comfortable with who we are," coach Doc Rivers said. "We know who we are. We know how we have to play to win."

"I'm glad we didn't make any moves," forward Pat Garrity added. "We've got a good group of guys who work good together. I think we're poised for the next couple of weeks here."

While the Magic stood pat with their current roster, both the Indiana Pacers and the Boston Celtics -- who are in the mix teams of teams scrambling for playoff spots in the Eastern Conference -- had pulled off deals earlier in the week. The Pacers picked up Brad Miller, Ron Mercer, Ron Artest and Kevin Ollie from the Chicago Bulls while the Celtics acquired Rodney Rogers and Tony Delk from the Phoenix Suns.

"I think Boston really helped themselves. Indiana, I don't know," Rivers said.

MAGGETTE READY

Corey Maggette, who is in his second year with the Clippers after spending his rookie season with the Magic, started at small forward for them despite suffering a mild concussion Wednesday night against the Miami Heat.

Maggette is filling in for Lamar Odom, who has been on the injured list since Jan. 24 with a sprained ligament in his right wrist. Maggette had a team-high 21 points in the Clippers' 100-92 victory Dec. 10 over the Magic in Los Angeles.
