The Pistons needed change in their starting lineup, and coach Rick Carlisle pulled the trigger Friday.

With the starters struggling at both ends of the floor and the Pistons riding a six-game losing streak, Carlisle started Corliss Williamson at small forward for Michael Curry and Chucky Atkins for Dana Barros at point guard.

It didn't help as the Pistons lost their seventh in a row, 87-78. In 25 minutes, Williamson had 10 points and seven rebounds; Atkins had 13 points and five assists in 35 minutes. Curry (34 minutes) and Barros (13) combined for five points.

"I talked to Dana and Mike before I did it and made sure they were on board with it," Carlisle said. "They were great and very professional about it. These guys want to win.

"Not that I think a shake-up in personnel is the ultimate solution to our problems, but I think at this point it's something we have to look at."
