Toronto Raptors assistant coach Stan Albeck is making some progress recovering from a serious stroke he suffered in the team's locker room at the Air Canada Centre on Sunday.

Members of the team's coaching staff and a couple of players have been to St. Michael's Hospital to visit the 70-year-old lead assistant to head coach Lenny Wilkens.

"He's getting better," assistant coach Craig Neal said.

Team doctors say Albeck's long-term prognosis is still undetermined.

"Coach Albeck is currently in stable condition and resting comfortably at St. Michael's Hospital, where he will remain for the time being," team physician Dr. Doug Richards said in a statement. "Stan suffered a serious stroke that has ... left him paralyzed on the right side and unable to speak significantly. We hope for further recovery over the next couple of days and weeks."
