The relationship between the coach and the players was an important factor for Tim Floyd?s resignation, according to Roman Modrowski of the Chicago Sun-Times. Floyd proved he could deal with losing, enduring a 45-169 record, but he could not overcome ?losing? the respect of some of his players. And before you come to any conclusions, it wasn?t only forward Charles Oakley who was unsatisfied with Floyd's methods.

''Change is up to management,'' Oakley said. ''Players never fire coaches or hire coaches. Management watches games, and we watch games.

''Things here haven't been going right. He's coming from college to the NBA, and it's different. It's hard for him.''  Not any longer, says Modrowski.
