The old Wesley Person said he would have wilted. The new Wesley Person won the game for the Cavaliers.

Person scored 25 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and hit a decisive 3-pointer with 1:02 left to give the Cavs a 100-96 overtime win over Miami before 14,051 last night at Gund Arena.

Person had dismal performance Friday at Philadelphia, scoring five points on 2-of-9 shooting. But Person, who had 24 points Wednesday against Memphis, didn't let it bother him.

``I have matured as a player,'' said Person, who disliked his role last season under previous coach Randy Wittman. ``Last year, if I shot 2-of-9, I would have been more hesitant. This year my role has changed. (Cavs coach John Lucas) has confidence in me. He went right back to me.''

What also went right back to Person was a long rebound off a missed shot by Lamond Murray with just more than a minute left in overtime. Person grabbed the miss and wasted no time in throwing in a 28-footer.

Cavs guard Andre Miller, who scored 21 points and had 12 assists, hit a 13-foot jumper to put the Cavs ahead 98-93 with 5.9 seconds left. Forward Lamond Murray, who made the 11th four-point play in Cavs history in the first quarter, clinched the win with two foul shots with .7 of a second remaining.

That also enabled the Cavs (4-10) to reach 100 points, guaranteeing the fans free Chalupas. With the fans yelling ``Chalupa, Chalupa'' at the end, it was hard to tell whether they were more pleased by the win or by their taste buds being satisfied.
