Leave the backpacks, video cameras and big purses at home -- or at least in the car. The same with guns, knives, chains and fireworks. Then everyone will be fine.

That's the message being sent by the city of Orlando and the Orlando Magic as they prepare for another basketball season at the TD Waterhouse Centre.

Tightened security measures on game days and nights may cause a slight inconvenience, but if the exhibition schedule was any indication, good common sense should speed up the process if everyone cooperates.

"We haven't heard many complaints at all about the process, but opening night will be the real test of how it goes," said Scott Herring, the Magic's assistant general manager. "I think most fans were expecting it, probably welcoming it under the conditions."
