(News Services) Orlando coach Doc Rivers pulled his regulars off a slippery court at the Ice Palace in Tampa Sunday and never let them return.

The Los Angeles Clippers beat the Magic, 105-97, but the outcome was inconsequential even by exhibition-game standards after both coaches questioned whether the game should even continue.

''I almost broke my neck out there,'' said Magic center Patrick Ewing. ''It was dangerous.''

There was a basketball floor over the ice, but players ran gingerly up and down the court. The condensation, coupled with a leak in the roof on a rainy night, made for treacherous conditions.

Grant Hill, who missed all but four games last season because of an ankle injury, slipped on a drive to the basket. Ewing slipped and fell trying to pivot close to the basket.
