The AP reports: Former Auburn star Chris Porter was arrested Friday on drug charges after he was stopped for a traffic violation.

Police said the Golden State Warriors forward had a small plastic bag with cocaine and another with marijuana in the car.

He was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and second-degree possession of marijuana, said Lt. Ray Wiehe of the Dothan Police Department.

Porter was to be released under $1,000 bond.

Police Capt. Steve Parrish said Porter was stopped after an officer saw him speeding. Parrish said the officer found the cocaine on Porter and found the marijuana and a handgun in the car.

Parrish said police were checking to see whether Porter is allowed to carry a gun in Alabama.
