The New York Daily News reports that the New Jersey Nets will bring in Sixers free agent Todd MacCulloch in for a visit. Nets President Rod Thorn is hoping to sign a big man and possibly a backup point guard. Other free-agent big men include Nazr Mohammed (whom the Nets have contacted), Calvin Booth, Joe Smith and Christian Laettner. The Warriors' Marc Jackson is a restricted free agent. The Nets also have had discussions with their own free-agent center Evan Eschmeyer, who is talking to other teams as well.

Any team will have trouble signing and keeping MacCulloch, Jackson or Booth. These three players are restricted free agents, which means their prior teams can match any offer up to the Mid-Level Exception.
