The Sacramento Kings exercised contract options for the 2008-09 season on forward Francisco Garcia and guard Quincy Douby on Friday.
Garcia averaged 6.0 points and 2.6 rebounds last season as a reserve for the Kings, who drafted him in 2005 out of Louisville, where new Sacramento coach Reggie Theus was an assistant to Rick Pitino. Garcia will make $1.17 million next season and $1.98 million in 2008-09.
Douby, a first-round pick from Rutgers, scored 2.8 points per game while playing sparingly as a rookie last season. He is slated to make $1.33 million next season and $1.43 million in 2008-09.
Sacramento also made qualifying offers to guard Ronnie Price and forward Justin Williams, who both made the club as undrafted free agents. They are scheduled to be restricted free agents, and the Kings will have the right to match any contract offer they receive this summer.

As Jerry Tarkanian understood it, the Sacramento Kings' owners and general manager disagreed on the choice of the team's next head coach. The Maloofs wanted New Mexico State's Reggie Theus, and Geoff Petrie preferred Lakers assistant Brian Shaw.
"I think I got Reggie the job," Tarkanian said Wednesday afternoon.
When it appeared that Shaw would be the Kings' choice over the weekend, Tark spent 45 minutes with Joe Maloof on the telephone Sunday night. Rick Pitino had long talks with Maloof and Petrie, too.
"Reggie called me Saturday after he had the second interview and thought he was right there," Tarkanian said. "But he was still the dark horse. Joe told me he, his brother and mother were really strong on Reggie, but Geoff still liked Shaw. I told Joe, 'This comes down to you and Gavin (Maloof) if you don't win. How come you aren't making the choice?' "
