Pitino Has No Interest In The NBA

Even if Knick President Donnie Walsh comes calling, Rick Pitino said that he has no interest in returning to the NBA, writes Marc Berman of the New York Post.

"It's a young man's game," Pitino told The Post. "I'm 55 now. I take 15 hours now to prepare for one game. I don't know how I'd do that 90 times a year. I take my hat off to Pat Riley and Phil Jackson. I don't know how they do it."

UCLA's Collison To Return For Senior Season

UCLA's Darren Collison announced Saturday that he will return for his senior season instead of joining teammates who have declared for the NBA draft, as reported by ESPN.com.

"I want to give myself the best possible chance to succeed at the next level," Collison was quoted as saying by the Los Angeles Times. "I have not made this decision impulsively. I have unfinished business at UCLA. I want to complete my education, and when I do enter the draft I don't want to be just another prospect."

Calipari To Remain In Memphis Through 2012-13

John Calipari signed a contract extension to remain the coach at Memphis through the 2012-13 campaign Saturday, as reported by Yahoo.com.

The signing comes less than three weeks after the Tigers fell to Kansas in the title game.

The new contract has a total guaranteed package of $2.35M, which includes a $500,000 increase over Calipari’s 2007-08 salary. If Calipari remains at Memphis through the length of the contract, he will receive a donor-funded longevity bonus of $5M.
