Lawson: Pacers Don't Seem Happy With Their PGs

Ty Lawson and Eric Maynor are drawing interest from the Indiana Pacers.

"They talked to my agent and they said they need a point guard to come in," Lawson said this afternoon. "They've got T.J. Ford and Jarrett Jack, but I don't know if they're happy with them. They said they need one to come in."

Granger: Pacers Must Stay On Same Page

Danny Granger, who was crowned the NBA's Most Improved Player on Tuesday, is happy that the Pacers have become a closer team.

"One of the things that's different with this team from teams in the past is we all really get along with each other and we talk basketball even when we don't have to," Granger said on 1070 the Fan in Indy.

"I just called Jarrett Jack, our point guard, and we talked about what we have to do next year, and I think it's very important to get on the same page."

Granger added that the team's main priority is to get better defensively.

"It's really focused on the defensive end," he said of their planned improvements.

Granger: I Patterned My Defensive Game After Artest

Pacers forward Danny Granger was named the NBA's Most Improved Player on Tuesday afternoon and insisted that he wants to get better.

"I don't want to just get better; I want to be an elite player," Granger said. "I've really patterned my defensive game after Ron Artest, but I probably got away from it the last two years. So next year, I think that (defense) will be my focus. We scored a lot of points, but we gave up a lot. As a leader, it starts with me and I have to be better on the defensive end."

Granger has always been in good shape, but acknowledged that he has to condition himself even better to become an elite player.

"The one problem I had last year was probably fatigue," Granger said. "I was in good shape, but to be a really good defensive player a la Kobe -- he's probably in the best shape in the NBA -- I need to improve on that."
