Sabm’s re-assignment marks the 36th assignment of the season. Samb, 7-1, 245-pounds, has appeared in two games for Detroit this season and is averaging 1.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 10.5 minutes per game. In six preseason games for the Pistons, Samb averaged 4.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 17.8 minutes. Saunders wants to allow his younger bench players to earn their minutes as the team heads into the second half of the season. "We need to see what we have with a lot of those guys," Saunders told the Free Press. "We can't expect to not play them, and then all of a sudden playoff time comes and we play them.
