Mbenga Suspended One Game For Flagrant Foul

Dallas Mavericks center DJ Mbenga has been suspended one game without pay for committing a Flagrant Foul Penalty Two by striking Cleveland?s LeBron James in the head, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President Basketball Operations.

The incident, in which a Flagrant Foul Penalty One was called and, subsequently, upgraded by the League Office to a Flagrant Foul Penalty Two, occurred with 7:35 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Mavericks 107-94 loss to the Cavaliers on Wednesday night at Quicken Loans Arena. Mbenga will serve his suspension tonight against the Orlando Magic.

Nelson Denied Hall Of Fame Membership

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, former Mavericks head coach Don Nelson won’t be part of the newest class of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The latest class will be announced Monday from Indianapolis before the NCAA men’s national championship game. According to a source, Nelson didn’t receive the 18 votes needed from the 24-member Honors Committee.

Nowitzki Goes For 51, But Warriors Steal Win

Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks appeared to have the game under control against the Golden State Warriors, but missed free throws down the stretched opened the door to some last second heroics by high flyer Jason Richardson.

Richardson's 40 points, including the game-winning three pointer, trumped 51 points from Mavericks' forward Dirk Nowitzki, giving the Warriors an improbable 122-121 win.
