Bell Could Miss Remainder Of Season

Raja Bell could miss the remainder of the season after electing to undergo wrist surgery.

The Warriors acquired Bell from the Bobcats in a trade involving Stephen Jackson on Monday.

He'll miss four or five weeks if his wrist is in good shape and the remainder of the year if screws are needed for repair.

"I'm going into it, assuming it will be a big surgery," Bell told the San Francisco Chronicle. "If I wake up and it's not, it's icing on the cake. I'm prepared for the worst-case scenario, and I'll go from there."

He had been trying to play through the injury.

Brown Confident In Handling 'High-Maintenance Kids'

Bobcats coach Larry Brown doesn't think he'll have a problem dealing with Stephen Jackson.

"I can deal with (high-maintenance) kids. All you have to do is be straight with them," Brown said Monday.

"After six years with Allen (Iverson in Philadelphia), I don't look at anybody as a challenge. (Jackson) wants to play and he's a competitor. Guys like that you can make work in your locker room."

Charlotte acquired Jackson and Acie Law from Golden State on Monday for Raja Bell and Vlade Radmanovic.

Brown has spoken to close friend, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich, who coached Jackson earlier in his career.

"Pop said he's going to test you," Brown said of Jackson. "But if you call him out, he'll stay in line.

"I know this. Stephen Jackson is a talent and he loves to play. I work well with those guys."

Raja Bell Will Have Wrist Surgery

Warriors guard Raja Bell has decided to undergo wrist surgery.

Bell, who was traded from Charlotte to Golden State on Monday, had been trying to play through the injury.

"Bell is going to get the surgery on his wrist he put off in CHA," Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer wrote on his Twitter page.

He is averaging 12 points and 2.9 rebounds in five games this season.
